We hope that everyone had a great time and will participate next year. 

Our Tournament MVP went to Matthew Brumfield From Fair – Creek.  Matt showed a great deal of Leadership throughout the tournament, playing more than his share on the ice and working hard the whole time.  Fair – Creek had a short Bench, only bringing 10 players and 1 goalie.  Out of the 4 games played Fair – Creek won 2 games and lost 2 one of wich was in overtime to the second place team PFC. Great Job Matt!

The  Outstanding Goalie award goes to John Matthew Canales From the Laredo Bucks. Young Matthew (only 14 years old) showed great poise in net as he also had to deal with his team having a short bench. Many times while watching Laredo Play I noticed Matthew practically stand on his head to make a save. Matthew only allowed 14 goals out of 170 shots.  Great Job Matthew!

Our Team Sportsmanship Award goes to the Laredo Bucks.  Throughout the Tournament these young men exemplified the meaning of Being Great Sportsmen, on and off the ice.  After the Tournament ended I learned that the Laredo Bucks players worked just as hard off the ice,  they held several fund raisers to collect enough money to pay for the Bus in which they traveled to College Station in. Thank you for being great examples.

Fifth : Fair – Creek

Sixth : B. V. Bucks   (Tied with Klein – Tiebreaker goes to the BV Bucks with fewer goals  allowed)

Seventh : Klein

Eighth : South TX Rebels

Ninth : Laredo Bucks

Tenth : Austin Stars

Eleventh : Leander

Twelfth : Austin – MWH

In regards to the Scouts. We as the BV Bucks Hockey Club would like to apologize for the Scouts not showing up. Coah Boyle (Texas A&M) and I worked very hard to get scouts to attend our Showcase and for whatever reason they did not show. We have already started brainstorming to keep this from happening again next year. We want our Tournament to be an event that Scouts from all over look forward to coming to so that they can see some of the Talent Texas Hockey has to offer.

Assistant Captian Ben Wilkins a Senior who plays mostly forward has 25 points in 10 games with 16 Goals and 9 Assists.  Assistant Captain Mason Smith a Sophmore who plays the forward position has 18 points in 9 games with 10 Goals and 8 Assists. The Bucks Team Captain Senior Kendall Dale is our third player breaking into the ranks of top 20 Varsity Scoring Leaders, Kendall plays Defense and has 12 points in 10 games with 6 Goals and 6 Assists.
